Earlier this year, our family took a week long vacation to Scottsdale,
Arizona. One evening, after dinner and drinks with friends, my wife left to take
two of our children back to our nearby hotel. Unfortunately, a routine traffic
stop resulted in a Felony charge of an Aggravated DUI since the children in the
car were under 16 years of age. My wife was taken to the Scottsdale jail. Because
we were living in Canada she was considered a flee threat, so was held overnight
until her arraignment the following day.
Not having any ties to the Scottsdale area, I was unsure as to where to turn

I received a DUI in early April 2009. With my past record of only a few speeding

Mark,
On December 5, 2008, I made the mistake of getting behind the wheel after having a few too many drinks. Consequently, I was charged with a DUI above .08 and facing penalties of a 10 day jail sentence, suspension of my driving license, monetary fines, and having an ignition interlock system installed in my car. I immediately recognized the seriousness of the charges filed against me and scheduled meetings with DUI attorneys around the metro Phoenix area. After meeting with Mr. Mark Dubiel, I new he was the lawyer to represent me. He is very knowledgeable of the law and clearly explained the whole judicial process and the charges I faced while not trying to “sugar coat” anything. The best part is that Mark will be the one to represent you in the court and not try to “pawn” you off to some associate lawyer fresh out of school like other large firms may have done!

With the new laws in Arizona, being arrested for dui is terrifying.
The new laws reduce, and in most cases eliminate, the ability to plea bargain
your way into a lower charge. While this statement may make it sound like you
don't need an attorney, that is not the case. What it means is that you need
to have an attorney who specializes in dui, knows the law inside and out, knows
the science behind blood tests, and most importantly has incredible court presence.
Having a business, a family, and a small child, I was terrified of the thought
of spending 30 days in jail. Mark did an incredible job of setting expectations
in the beginning, managing the entire process so I missed very little work, and
his office kept me up to date on their progress. After two grueling days in court,
my extreme dui charge was dismissed. Mark did an unbelievable job in court. While
his jury selection and witness cross examinations helped, it was clearly his
knowledge of the blood testing process, his expert witness' ability to explain
a complex process in layman's terms, and his closing statements that got the
charge dismissed. I could not imagine going through this without Mark's help.
He is certainly a person of high integrity and ethics. While he doesn't make
promises or set unrealistic expectations, he understands that you are a person
and the ramifications of a conviction can be devastating.

In the summer of last year [2008] I was charged with an extreme DUI and was
facing a minimum penalty of ten days in jail along with some pretty steep court
fees and fines. When I spoke to Mr. DuBiel during my initial free consultation,
he presented me with several options on how to proceed and was very honest with
me about the chances of a better plea offer. Right away, I felt comfortable and

In 2007, I was traveling with work in Arizona. I ended up in one of those
towns where everyone knows everyone about two hours outside of Phoenix. In short,
I showed up at a bar with someone’s ex wife and it presented a problem.
I defended myself, knocked the guy out with one punch, and calmly left the bar
like I was being screamed at to do by this guy’s “people.” Well,
with the only Texas plates in town it wasn’t hard for the police to spot
my truck and pull me over. Not able to do anything to me for the conflict at
the bar, they gave me a DUI instead and the State later picked me up on assault
charges as well. Luckily, I had a friend that told me about Mark DuBiel.

had to constantly travel, so I needed someone who really knew what they were

back to Texas to be with my newborn son later that year which made it almost

On October 28, 2005 I was arrested for a DUI. I like to think of
myself as a responsible individual, that wouldn't put others or
myself at risk by driving intoxicated. I also knew how adversely
having a DUI on my record could affect my career and my future.
I had to fight this charge.
In speaking to a good friend who had some acquaintances who have
